Yesterday, Gen9 President and CEO Kevin Munnelly joined Jason Kelly of Ginkgo Bioworks and Jasmina Aganovic of Mother Dirt for Microbes of the Future, a HUBweek event focused on the synthetic biology market and the future of the field.

HUBweek, a celebration of the future being built in Boston, offered a week of events covering innovative activities in the biotech, healthcare, and technology sectors. Microbes of the Future, moderated by Gastropod's Cynthia Graber, was held at Ginkgo Bioworks shiny, new Bioworks2 organism foundry.

The experts who sat on the panel fielded questions from both Cynthia Graber and members of the audience. Topics ranged from biosecurity to scaling gene synthesis to the future of consumer goods and services -- all built through biology.
